A journey of devotion through rhythm and movement.
Sneha was introduced to the divine art of Bharatanatyam at the age of five under the guidance of Guru Smt. Jayanthi Thyagarajan at Natyavedalaya in Bangalore, India. After completing her foundational training, she continued her studies with Guru Smt. Chitra Vinodh, training in the Vazhavoor bani. Under her mentorship, Sneha successfully completed her Junior Examination conducted by the Karnataka State Secondary Education Board.
At the age of fourteen, Sneha performed her Arangetram (Rangapravesha), marking an important milestone in her Bharatanatyam journey and showcasing her skills in Nritta, Nrithya, and Natya. Her repertoire included Pushpanjali, Choornike, Sankeernam Alarippu, Jathiswaram, Keerthanam, Varnam in Ragam Shanmukha Priya, Padam, Devarnama, and Thillana. The performance was blessed by Sneha’s Parama Guru, Karnataka Kalashree Kum. B. Bhanumathi.
Sneha later completed her Senior Examination under the Karnataka State Secondary Education Board. Over the years, she has developed a deep passion and dedication to Bharatanatyam, building strong fundamentals and confidence in performance through consistent training and practice.
After moving to Michigan, USA, Sneha continued her training under Smt. Sudha Chandrashekar at Hindu Temple Rhythms (HTR), where she trained in the Tanjavur bani. During this time, she learned various techniques and repertoire pieces including padams, varnams, thillanas, and bhajans. Sneha has represented HTR on several platforms through both in-person and virtual performances. She has also actively supported the organization by assisting with stage and welcome décor for arangetrams and helping fellow artists with makeup and rehearsal preparation.
Currently, Sneha continues her Bharatanatyam training under Smt. Gayathri Vignesh at Nrithya Kala Aradhana, further deepening her practice in the Vazhavoor bani. In addition to her formal training, Sneha regularly collaborates with her dance classmates to create visually expressive Bharatanatyam choreography presented through YouTube performances.
